Still in the Game: Being an Athlete at 55+

Introduction Am I still an athlete?  I’ve been thinking a lot about this lately.  I’ll be 58 years old in a few weeks.  I retired from the Army in September 2023 and transitioned into the civilian sector.  While I first thought about being an “athlete” in high school sports, it was my time in the […]

Layering Systems with MTI Athlete Wyatt Jobe

MTI Athlete Wyatt Jobe is a Wilderness Paramedic in Valdez, Alaska. Watch his breakdown of layering products and systems for everything from ski tours to ice climbing. 2024 Was the Best Hunting Season of My Life

By Dan Stuewe, MTI Athlete Team I didn’t harvest a single animal. I lost arrows, spent money on new gear, obsessed over trail-camera feeds, and put a lot of miles on my truck. But the freezer is empty. Before this year, I hunted whitetail twice in New York in 2022. And before that year, I […]

Build New Firefighters, Don’t Break Them.

By Doug Rinderknecht, MTI Athlete Team In the fire service, tradition runs deep. Many of us were raised in a culture where toughness was non-negotiable. Mistakes were met with sharp words, not gentle corrections. Respect was earned through grit, resilience, and thick skin. It was a rite of passage — and for many of us, […]
