SPORT-SPECIFIC TRAINING

SPORT-SPECIFIC TRAINING

Sport-specific training, and the idea behind it, is what distinguishes Mountain Athlete from every other training regimen. The videos above are small examples of sport-specific training. We arrived on these movements by defining the fitness attributes of the sport, then setting goals and assessments, and planning backwards to progress the training. We do this for every sport. In this way, we can prepare the athlete to be at peak fitness at the right time without overtraining them. Further, by defining fitness attributes, we can employ and train the very movements that athletes use in their sport without relying on staid, overused, or inapplicable methods or movements that are gym-specific. You’ll be ready for the mountain, whatever your mountain may be. Simply, we train you for the sport by training your body to move in the very way the sport demands and progress your fitness so that you are in peak condition exactly when you need to be.
